Tanya Beasley graduated from the University of Alberta in 2006 with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy. Prior to this she completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Lethbridge (2002). As a physical therapy student, Tanya volunteered in a morning clinic with Dr. David Magee, where she treated both amateur and professional athletes - including members of the Oilers. Since graduation Tanya has completed numerous continuing education courses including: McKenzie Part A: Lumber Spine Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy, Charlie Kelly's Muscle Mobilization, and Shirley Sahramann's Diagnosis and Treatment of Movement Impairment Syndromes. Tanya is also certified in Acupuncture from the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. Currently, Tanya is completing her Level 3 Orthopedic Certification from the Orthopedic Division of the CPA and will be taking Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation in May 2009. Tanya's areas of interest include functional return to sport and activity, work re-conditioning, posture re-education, injury prevention, acupuncture, and manual therapy.
During Tanya's days off she enjoys a variety of sports (hockey, basketball, weight training, and golf), traveling, and spending time with her friends and family. Tanya is an avid ultimate Frisbee player and competed in the World Ultimate Frisbee Championships in Perth, Australia in 2006 and the Canadian Ultimate Frisbee Championships in 2005 and 2008, respectively.
