Alberta Health Care

If you have Alberta Health Care, the Community Rehabilitation Program (CRP) currently provides physical therapy services through an arrangement with a number of service providers located throughout the Capital Health Region (Edmonton and area).  Clinics are approved for a certain amount of money that must be distributed throughout the year.  A maximum of 3 visits (one assessment and two treatments) per body part per year are allowed for each individual. There are special circumstances when more funding is allowed.

 
1. If you have had a surgery or have a fracture (broken bone), you become eligible for a total of 7 visits.
2. If you receive certain provincial subsidies, your earnings fall below a certain amount, or you have fallen into temporary hardship, you may also qualify for a total of 7 treatments.

Please note that you do not need a doctor's referral to access these services.
